Dark Souls the Board Game: Bell Gargoyle miniature painting

I was a day-one backer of the Steamforged Kickstarter and, ever since the core game box arrived earlier this year, I've been slowly making my way through the miniatures from the Dark Souls the Board Game collection. I finished up the Bell Gargoyle today, and I am pretty happy with the results. Hit the Jump for some detail shots and a little bit of commentary.

The Others: Karl (wolf-form; work in progress)

Started Karl (in wolf-form) this morning. The concept art has him going from brown (in the lower, fleshy bits) to white (for the highest highlight on the fur). I'm really struggling with his wristband, since it's not in the concept art, so I think I'm just going for...a leather effect? Kingdom Death: People of the Sun Priest (work in progress)

I had a bit of an airbrush snafu this morning and ended up losing a lot of time taking it apart to chase down a stubborn clog. And so, while my disassembled airbrush was enjoying bit of a soak, I decided to use my hour this morning to put some finishing touches on a Kingdom Death piece that I started a little while ago as a little mini-project I started to try to figure out a technique for painting orange robes/cloaks/cloth. I know that sounds oddly specific, but I find that sometimes, when I feel adrift, it helps me sort out my thoughts to just have to pick an arbitrary goal and pursue it incrementally.
